All applicants are required to complete an admission test before admission is granted. The test is typically based on the NWEA MAP Admissions Screening Test and includes assessments in Mathematics and Reading. Students are expected to score at or above grade level in order to be granted admission.
Overseas applicants applying to Grades 2 – 12 are encouraged to submit the most recent NWEA MAP test scores.
Additional assessments include the following:

French/Spanish Placement Test: Grades 6 – 12
Remote testing is available for overseas applicants. The tests have to be administered at the student’s current school by an approved proctor. Students applying to Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten will be required to complete an
Students applying to Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten will be required to complete an on-site classroom observation as part of the enrollment requirements.
Non-English Speaking Applicants
Students applying to AISA who have little or no English speaking skills will complete an onsite Language Proficiency Test. The school offers an English as an Additional Language (EAL) Program to students in Grades 1 – 8. EAL Students applying to grades 9 -12 are required to meet the grade level English Language requirements.
Students with special needs must submit any additional documentation such as a psychological evaluation, Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), and/or any other relevant documentation needed to support their application. It is the responsibility of the parents to disclose all documentation fully prior to an offer of admission being made so that the school administration can determine if the child’s needs can be met at AISA. Failure of any applicant to disclose fully in any instance may result in the offer of acceptance being rescinded. AISA reserves the right to deny admission to students whose special needs cannot be serviced by the school.
An age policy is essential in order to ensure that students who enter each grade are physically, mentally, socially and emotionally prepared. The Age Policy is effective from the beginning of the school year for new students.
