Please see below for a list of required and recommended school supplies for all Middle and High School students for the 2026-2027 school year. In principle, AISA provides students with a student planner and instructional resources such as novels, textbooks and lab materials. In classes with novels and textbooks, students check out these resources from their classroom teachers and are responsible for returning them at the end of the year. Throughout the year, individual subject teachers may require students to bring in additional supplies in addition to the items listed below.
General Classroom Equipment
- Pencil Case
- Pencils and pencil sharpener
- Pens in multiple colors (e.g., blue, black, red)
- Ruler (6 inches)
- Notebooks (8)
- Folders (8)
- Erasers
- Wired headphones (Only used at the direction of a teacher in the classroom)
Backpack
Backpack style school bag which will fit into a 15 inch wide locker. Backpacks are kept in lockers throughout the day.
Students are discouraged from using roller bags or luggage-style backpacks as they do not typically fit in student lockers.
Laptop carry bag
- Laptop carry bags are taken into classrooms. The laptop bag should have:
- 2 separate pockets (minimum) that can carry
- a 14 inch chromebook or a 13 inch MacBook as well as
- a notebook and pencil case.
- US to Nigeria (UK) Power Adapter (for the laptop charger)

School-Issued Laptop
Effective from the 2026-2027 school year, all students are expected to only use school-issued laptops for school work on campus and at home. This is to enhance our network security and to better ensure a safe, productive digital learning environment for all students. Furthermore, this allows our IT department to uniformly push updates to student devices to improve accessibility to digital resources while also reducing IT-related disruptions to teaching and learning.
- For students in grades 6-8, the school will issue students a Chromebook that is up to 14 inches in size.
- For students in grades 9-12, the school will issue students a 13 inch MacBook.
In rare circumstances, exceptions may be made for students with specific diagnosed learning differences or physical differences that require a laptop with special accommodations not available on Chromebooks or MacBooks. If a student requires this kind of laptop, it is at the family’s expense. Parents must apply to the MSHS Office for approval. In cases where approval is granted, students are still subject to all acceptable use policies.
For the avoidance of doubt, do not purchase a new personal laptop for use at school unless you have had an exception granted for reasons outlined above.
Water Bottle
All students are required to have a reusable water bottle. If purchasing a water bottle, a clear or translucent water bottle is preferable but not required. Carrying a water bottle helps ensure students stay hydrated which is especially important in Abuja’s hot climate. Furthermore, being prepared with a reusable water bottle diminishes missed class time and reduces waste from disposable cups and plastic bottles.
Mathematics, Science, and Design Equipment

- Grades 6-7: Scientific Calculator (Any brand)

All shirts have a small markup with all profits going to the PTA to support community activities.
Students in Grades 11-12 will be able to purchase special PE shirts that are reserved only for students in Grades 11-12.
Additionally, students are required to have the following items for PE classes:
- Closed-toe running shoes that cover the entire foot

All PE classes also have an annual swimming unit. For this, students should have:
