Born in Michigan and raised in metropolitan Detroit, Brad Mock became a teacher in Benin while serving in the United States Peace Corps. Serving a rural community as an English teacher and helping build the capacity of local teachers became a passion for him. Most recently, Mr. Mock is coming from Richmond, Virginia where he worked as an Exceptional Education teacher and a Civics and Economics teacher.
Mr. Mock holds a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and a Masters of Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. In Richmond he was the Vice President of his local Educator’s Association which focused on working with parents in under-served communities and advocating for the education that all children deserve.
Family is an important part of Mr. Mock’s life. His wife, Sarah L. Pedersen, has joined the AISA team as well and they will be joined by their young daughter, Eleanor Joyce Mock. Mr. Mock loves anything to do with athletics, reading, hiking, and all things related to his hometown of Detroit. Mr. Mock is super excited to be joining the team at AISA and cannot wait to explore and learn with the Abuja community.
